Structural Steel Construction Worker

Structural Steel Construction Workers assemble rigging gear to move and position equipment and structural components, erect scaffolding, position and secure steel reinforcing in concrete forms, and erect and dismantle structural steel frames.

Day to day tasks

  • lifting and positioning sections of scaffolding
  • attaching pulleys, blocks, and cables
  • arranging safety measures, such as guard rails, guy wires, and safety nets
  • fixing mesh and reinforcing steel into position for concrete pours
